King Charles expressed condolences following the unexpected death of Thomas Kingston, husband of Lady Gabriella Kingston, daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent. A statement released by the Kingston family described Thomas as “an exceptional man who lit up the lives of all who knew him” and requested privacy during their mourning.
The King and Queen also extended their deepest sympathies to Lady Gabriella and Mr. Kingston’s family, acknowledging Thomas’s role as a beloved member. While Thomas’s passing at the age of 45 in Gloucestershire was not deemed suspicious, an inquest will determine the cause of death.
Thomas, born on June 22, 1978, was a graduate of Bristol University and pursued a career in finance. He married Lady Gabriella on May 18, 2019, in a ceremony at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, attended by Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. Despite Lady Gabriella’s non-royal duties, Thomas accompanied her to events such as Trooping the Colour in June 2019. Lady Gabriella is known for her work as a freelance writer.
Lady Gabriella, the only daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, was born on April 23, 1981, and currently holds the 56th position in the line of succession to the throne.
